With Oracle 9i i used sometimes the Enterprise manager for administrative reasons. But I’d like to work independent from it. Now with Oracle 10G my attitude toward it changed 100%. OEM now called Database Control (DB Control/Db Console) not only covers all administrative tasks. It supports also the complete Workflow of Database tuning.

Now in development phase i am able to detect weak SQL ( with production like data ) at once and i am immediately able to response to it. Using the advisers, seeing the SQL’s history (identified by the SQL_ID) for days and so on! On the performance Home Page i am always in focus of what’s going on with the database. Great! So i will post small articles of my experiences with the ingenious DB Control!
